It was found that introducing conjugated group into isophthalate through an unconjugated amido linkage could only make slight influence on the optoelectrochemical properties and coloration characteristics of the original isophthalate material,whereas the thermal stability and response speed during the reduction were obviously enhanced. The results demonstrate that the modification strategy put forward here could be effective in the molecular design regarding the improvement of the capability for practical application of this electrochromic system.
